Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American singer-songwriter and the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October, Ari Lennox released her Pho EP. The EP was where she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet back in 2012 after she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound, as well as her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's reference. In the following season, the music was played around Dreamville. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution to the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. In 2018, she appeared in two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed then followed by a short video in September. Then on November 9, she released two additional singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two additional singles were also released by her on 11/13 with the titles Pedigree and One. She then appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019, for her debut album the same name. The 20th of February, 2019, a music clip was released to promote the song. It has already received over three millions views on YouTube in its first week. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
